Avant Helps Local Broadcasters Raise Money For Flood Victims

Avant IT lends technical expertise and time to the Binghamton-area broadcasters raise money for victims of the September 2011 flooding.

September 9th, 2011, the Greater Binghamton region faced flooding that inundated significant portions of the area, creating widespread damage to homes, businesses, and public infrastructure. The local broadcast media - WSKG, WIVT, WBNG, Citadel Radio, Equinox Broadcasting, Magic 101, YNN, and BingSpot - wanted to quickly put together a telethon to raise money in partnership with our local United Ways for flood relief. Avant IT, who helps a lot of those customers with their regular computer needs, was asked to help. Within 24 hours and everyone working together, a new site had been set up, a new domain name arranged, and the telethon was off and running.
