Work Experience
Melanie began her professional career with the Arthur Andersen Certified Public Accounting firm in their Rochester, NY office. During her career with Arthur Andersen Melanie had the opportunity to handle a diverse client base from a variety of industries including manufacturing, retail, healthcare and not-for-profit.
Upon relocation to the Binghamton area Melanie took a position as Assistant Controller with Azon Corporation, where she was responsible for corporate financial reporting and taxes. After having her first child, she departed Azon while continuing consulting work from home.
After successfully seeing two boys off to elementary school Melanie returned part-time to the workforce in a consulting capacity, while balancing a love for being active in the community and schools.
Melanie provides back-office support to Avant and other businesses, and is available to Avant clients for consultive help with general bookkeeping and accounting questions for small businesses, and has an extensive knowledge of the QuickBooks accounting package.
